The Copyright Building, London, W1

This new-build project replaced three existing buildings on Berners Street to create a new, highly sustainable office scheme.

The completed scheme has a clear narrative using a range of material including timber, travertine and concrete to create a consistent theme that references the history of the Berners Street area, an area of arts & crafts design and manufacture.

This broader architectural narrative informed the lighting design approach for Copyright with light being use to accentuate the richness and nature of the material palette. This placed extra emphasis on the integration of lighting equipment, particularly within elements such as the in-situ cast concrete, to ensure that the necessary level of accuracy and detail were achieved. Within the workplace areas, lighting methods were introduced to provide the very latest, best practice ergonomic working conditions.
