About EQ2 Light
EQ2 Light Ltd is founded on the simple philosophy of a group of experienced individuals who provide a high level, targeted, creative and efficient lighting design service to the industry. We have all worked together in previous incarnations and collectively combine over 110 years of experience in the lighting design industry.
We are a strictly fee-based, independent organisation and therefore have no commitment, allegiance or connection to any manufacturing or lighting supply organisation. Consequently we are able to provide, without prejudice, fully independent lighting design advice. This independence is very important to us, we place a high value on it and it is a central element within the company philosophy.
Our project work is international and includes everything from large scale urban regeneration, commercial developments, hotels and spas, bespoke and multiple residential schemes, retail developments museums, galleries and theatres.
We do not have a conventionally understood company structure – information is produced at all levels. By using our experience, we are, in this respect, able to be more effective when compared to a traditional ‘top down’ design structure – this is how we are more efficient and ensure that we maintain our knowledge in a client/project facing context.
Our experience has given us a full understanding and view of the design process. Undoubtedly, in terms of our input, creativity is key but so is the actual delivery of a project, an area where we rigorously apply ourselves. We are absolutely passionate about the detail inherent within any good design and will always want to take an active and positive role on site. In fact, we are very often the last members of the design team to leave site at the end of our commissioning process.
We understand the structure and energy that projects require. Part of our response to these requirements is to design and operate on a ‘collective’ basis. This means that we are able to add capacity on a project at times when our design output needs to be increased.
Above all else, our passion is for light and our simple aspiration is to ensure that its use provides as much benefit as possible for our clients, developers and operators.
