The Commonwealth House, New Oxford Street

This prominent building, clearly visible from the East along High Holborn has been fully refurbished to provide contemporary, modern office space.

The building, which is conservation listed, dates from 1939 and was originally designed in the Art Moderne style. The project refurbishment embraces this style and light is used throughout the scheme, in both decorative and functional contexts, to support the broader design approach.

Notable lighting elements include the backlit reception wall, the feature illuminated gold lift-lobby coffers and the uplit office floor plates, the latter being developed to offset the relatively compressed office floor to ceiling heights.
