Project:
Devonshire Square
EQ2 Light has worked on the Devonshire Square scheme for many years with a number of architects and clients. This work parcel was completed in 2016, working with John Robertson Architects for Blackstone Properties.
The primary focus of this project was the reworking of a disjointed public realm and re-establishing connections East from Liverpool Street Station. The creation of an active interior to the site was also important, generating natural and curated public congregation spaces.
The architecture of the listed warehouse buildings provided a basis the development of the Devonshire Square lighting design, using light to enhance the rhythm of the façade architecture to provide a series of positive backdrops during the hours of darkness.
A key piece of guidance for the implementation of all of the lighting interventions within Devonshire Square was the City of London’s Borough wide lighting strategy and final lighting equipment specifications were developed within this context.
