JJ Mack
The J J Mack Building, located at London’s former Smithfield Meat Market, is named after a street trader who sold fruit and vegetables in this location with such success that they were able to establish a large and impressive store. This new building once again emphasises this location as an area of enterprise and growth.
Totalling over 200,000 sq ft, J J Mack was delivered to BREEAM Outstanding and achieved a 5-Star Nabers performance rating.
All of the ‘front-of-house’ elements were included within EQ2 Light’s scope including the main workspace lighting, the large Main Reception, the ‘End-of-Journey’ facilities and the Roof Terracing. Part of the office design included a light scoop, a device that allows the introduction of daylight and supporting artificial light deep into the office interior. The building also incorporates a dynamic external lighting arrangement that has been fully integrated into the façade architecture.
EQ2 Light worked with Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands on this project for Helical.
